THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD
“I will extol You, my God, O King; and I will bless Your name forever and ever.” (Psalm 145:1)
What do we mean when we say that there is one God?
First, we are saying that God definitely exists. There are some people who do not believe in God at all.
Second, we are saying that there is only one God, not two or three or one hundred. In ancient times, most people believed in many gods, and even today some religions believe in many gods, thinking that each of the gods is in charge of a particular area of life. The Bible teaches that there is only one God, and he takes care of everything we need.
Third, when we say that there is one God, we are saying that the God we read about in the Old Testament, the Creator of everything and the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, is the same God we read about in the New Testament, the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
He never changes—he is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
My mouth shall speak the praise of the LORD, and all flesh shall bless His holy name forever and ever. (Psalm 145:21)
